is a quiet and relaxed rural site situated within the stunning Northumberland National Park between Kielder Water & Forest Park and Hexham.
Only an hours drive from Newcastle, it is set amongst beautiful moorland on the edge of the Wark forest.
Kinder to the environment, our shower facilities are powered by a wind turbine and solar panels (with electric backup) providing the hot water.
In addition to the shower block there are 3 taps located around the site.
There are 8 low power (6amp) electrical hook-ups on the site.
Several picnic tables are located across the campsite.
Nearest GP practice is in nearby Wark.
is close to the quiet village of Stonehaugh (pronounced Stone-Hoff) which was designed in 1951 as a village for the Forestry Commission workers at the time when Wark forest was being planted. The site is comparatively flat and is therefore suitable for tents, campervans, caravans and motor homes.
There is easy access to walking, with footpaths (including the Pennine Way) close by and visiting cyclists will find numerous forest tracks with the North Pennine cycle route (NCN 68) passing close to the village.
Our campsite was recently featured in the national press as "one of 15 stunningly located sites" to be found within the UK National Parks.
